Our Process

Consultation

We will meet you on site (or virtually) to walk through the space and discuss your ideas. Our team will take photos and measurements to get your project started.

Create Design Package

You will receive a free, no-obligation customized design package including mockups of the space to help you visualize the final product.

Room for Revisions

You'll have a chance to review your package and let us know of any revisions you may have. We welcome feedback and will work together to make sure your design is exactly what you're looking for.

Let's Paint It!

Let's get your project scheduled! Our team will bring all necessary supplies to bring your mural to life. We work during school hours so students and staff can watch the walls transform in real time!

Let's Work Together

In-School Residencies

Artist-led residencies get students in on the painting fun by giving them the opportunity to work collaboratively to create a mural in their school.

Throughout the session students will be involved in all aspects of the mural process from designing, scaling to size, and painting the finished product!

This is an engaging, memorable, hands-on experience that allows students to make a meaningful mark on their school.

What to Expect

Consultation

We will meet with you and discuss your ideas for the project and create a game plan. Our team has experience working with kids of all ages and we love what we do!

Setting Up

Our team will prep the mural beforehand and will have all the paints ready to go for your class. Depending on the size of the class or project, we may have the kids take turns in small groups to make sure everyone has a chance to contribute.

Let's Paint!

Now it's time for the fun part! After introductions and a quick tutorial on painting etiquette, your class can get started on their mural with our guidance.

Final Touches

We make sure to keep the integrity of the art made by little hands - but sometimes a little refinement is needed. Our team will put the finishing touches on your project and then seal everything in a clear coat to make it last for years to come!

I have nothing but raving reviews about Jenny Burgei and her team at Capital Murals. From the very beginning, she and her colleague were very thorough in asking questions about what we needed and desired for our spaces, taking measurements and photos and mocking up a lovely design that not only included our vision for the space, but also incorporated the existing quirks on the wall (like an HVAC vent panel) that needed to be considered.

Jenny handled all the prep and cleanup and was great working with the group taking their turn painting, while I was able to manage the groups not painting. The whole process was smooth and easy. Teachers and staff members enjoyed participating in the painting as well, and we are all overjoyed at the result and are so glad to have this mural permanently a part of our school. I very much look forward to working with her and Capital Murals again as soon as we can for our next mural.
